LEGENDARY boxer Frank Bruno has made it public that his relationship with the posh health spa Champneys is over.

Neither camp will comment on why this has happened but Frank’s agent Dave Davies has confirmed that the former heavyweight champion will now be using gyms under Fitness First.

He said: “The deal is Frank can use any of the Fitness First gyms around the country so he will be using the Berkhamsted one, which is local to him.

“It’s early days yet to say what other things he will be doing with the gym. I need him to get 100 per cent well first.

“As for why the relationship with Champneys has ended, let’s just say it just has. The reason isn’t for public knowledge really.”

Champneys also said it can’t comment on Frank’s decision not to use its facilities anymore.

The former boxer famously recovered from his 2003 nervous breakdown at Champneys and became a regular sight at the Tring spa until this year but on April 2 he posted on his official website that the relationship had ended.

It simply said: “For a number of years Frank and Champneys have enjoyed a good relationship. Frank spending many hours a day utilising the facilities of the gym and health club. All good things must come to an end and the relationship has ended.

“Frank has expressed a word of thanks to all the staff with the Champneys group.”

The boxer’s mental health hit the headlines again this month after he was treated in a private hospital for exhaustion.

He is fine now and fans will be able to see the community-spirited personality at the Jubilee party at Bow House Dental Surgery in Tring on Friday, June 1 at 5pm.
