Kings Langley Ladies’ winless streak continued as they went down 6-1 at home to Arlesey Town Ladies in the Beds & Herts County Girls’ and Women’s League Division Two.

A lacklustre first half bereft of ideas saw the visitors race into a three-goal lead in the opening 15 minutes, with Kings barely spluttering into first gear.

Kim Nield’s sweetly-struck free-kick reduced the arrears after 32 minutes, but Arlesey scored from the spot after keeper Jade North was harshly adjudged to have brought down a striker.

Kings went into the second half with a reorganised defence and this saw them dominate possession, but they could not get the ball into the net.

The visitors added a further two goals and could have had a third, but North saved a penalty after April Langton had conceded it.

Kings have to dust themselves down quickly as next up is a home match with Sandy Ladies on Sunday. Kick-off is at 2pm at High Street Green, Hemel Hempstead.
