Camelot 34-25 Imperial Medicals
CAMELOT were in try-scoring form as they racked up a bonus point win over Imperial Medicals.
The hosts started brightly and took the lead after six minutes as winger Nick Merritt sprang into action, chasing down a grubber kick and sprinting through to touch down a fine try which fly-half Richard Woodard converted.
And stand-in captain Woodard was in the action again shortly afterwards as he as he intercepted an opposition pass and stormed through to score a try under the posts which he also converted to make it 14-0 after 15 minutes
Camelot continued to press forward and two tries from Carl Buckingham gave them a commanding lead, but Imperial Medicals hit back to narrow the deficit to 24-13 at half-time.
Camelot continued to press in the second half and Haydn Morgan crashed over, but again the visitors responded with a try of their own.
In a pulsating game, Woodard extended the Camelot lead with his second try to make the score 34-18 and, despite some late Imperial pressure, the hosts held on for the win.
