The Berkhamsted and Hemel Hempstead Hockey Club men’s fifth team recorded the result of the weekend as they thrashed Stevenage 12-0.
Berko chances came thick and fast from the start and they notched five goals in the first half, with Will Alderson and Thomas Moorhouse opening their accounts for the season.
Clearly hungry for goals, Berko added a further seven after the interval, while goalkeeper Mark Johnson did not touch the ball once during the game.
Jake Alderson (3), Ed Holderness (2), Will Alderson (2), Jeremy Fisher (2), Moorhouse, Dom Peachey and own goal did the damage.
Elsewhere, the Berkhamsted ladies’ first team put in a good performance to beat West Herts 4-1.
Abi Lawlor, player of the match Claire Barrett Mold (2) and Molly Beard got the goals.
Elsewhere, the ladies’ second XI were awarded a walkover against Milton Keynes, while the thirds lost 2-0 to West Herts.
In other action, the men’s first team bounced back from defeat the previous week to dish out a 5-2 drubbing to high-flying Luton.
After falling behind to a soft goal, a double from captain Pete Allam put Berko in front.
Sam Philip then bagged a brace, either side of Allam’s third, to wrap up the win.
The men’s second team also won well, beating Letchworth 4-2, but the thirds lost 1-0 to Blueharts.
An own-goal secured a 1-1 draw for the men’s fourths against Southgate Adelaide.
