Hemel Hempstead Town FC were beaten on the last ball by Bovingdon CC as the two clubs came together for a fun-filled day of cricket to raise money for the Tudors Foundation Development fund.

Bovingdon snatched the win with a four from the last delivery of the match as the day raised £440 for the cause, on what was also the cricket club’s annual President’s Day.

The highlight of the scorecard – apart from Tudors defender Jack Smith’s impressive century – was James Hazleton’s stumping of Hemel assistant manager Stuart Maynard off the bowling of main Hemel Town FC shirt sponsor and Bovingdon CC chairman Kerry Underwood.

Following the game, Underwood said: “I am very grateful to Dean Brennan and Stuart Maynard for bringing up the first team.

“These guys had a long day at Bury St Edmunds in the FA Cup the day before and it is great of them to give up their Sunday.

“Everyone enjoyed it and we raised £450 for the Tudors Development Fund. I hope that this becomes an annual event.”
