Hemel Hempstead Town have completed the signing of former Millwall defender Jack Smith – brother of Watford legend Tommy Smith.
Smith, 31, heads to Vauxhall Road following his release from AFC Wimbledon, for whom he made 19 appearances and scored two goals.
Dean Brennan’s latest recruit began his career at Watford, where he made 25 appearances from 2002 to 2005, scoring twice in that time.
He then spent four years at Swindon Town, racking up 138 appearances and nine goals, before heading to Millwall from 2009-14 where he scored once in 96 games.
Smith’s signing provides valuable depth to the Hemel defence, which has been frequently stretched over the opening games of the season following a spate of injuries.
The Tudors head to table-topping Bath City tomorrow, with the chance to climb to third in the National League South table.
