A large contingent from the Redway Runners in Milton Keynes swelled the numbers at this week’s Tring parkrun.

The Redway crew included Helen Blucher-Altona, who was celebrating an impressive 100 parkruns which earns the coveted black t-shirt. Junior runner Oscar Evans has completed 10 junior runs, meaning a white ‘10 Club’ shirt awaits.

Completing the awards was volunteer Judi Hopcroft who was Tring’s Parkrunner of the Month and wins a pair of trainers from Sweatshop.

A mere 18 minutes and 24 seconds after the start of the race, the finish line action began with visitor Andrew Mercer crossing in first position. Steve Buckle came home next, followed by James Davis.

Soon afterwards came Claire Hallissey – who was part of Team GB in the 2012 Olympics – setting a new women’s record of 20:07 in her fourth outing at Tring. Jenny Maddocks was second woman across the line and Lynda Hembury finished third.

For the juniors, Ed Lee was first across the line followed by Dom Evans and Sam Burnell. The most rapid junior girls were Hannah Goodhead, Isobel Bladen and Darcey Rowles.

Sue Holder, Ian Gower, Cassie Goodison and Mark Castleton all bagged a second PB in a row. Registration for Tring parkrun is free at www.parkrun.org.uk/tring
