Kings Sports were beaten 3-2 after extra-time by Community Solutions Burnley FC in an exciting Media Ace National Christian Cup quarter-final clash.
Kings played down the slope in an evenly-contested first half, with both teams having a couple of good chances but failing to convert them as the sides went in locked at 0-0 at half-time.
Burnley than began to take control and put the Kings goal under great pressure but keeper Glen Dimmock made a couple of decent saves to keep the scores level.
However, after 25 minutes of pressure, Solutions eventually took the lead from a corner.
The Burnley dominance continued but Kings also had a few breaks and, in the 80th minute, Matt Ferguson received the ball in the box and turned a defender, only to be brought down.
Dan Tomkins stepped up and coolly slotted home the resulting penalty to make it 1-1 at full-time.
There were a few chances in the first half of extra-time and it was Kings who seized the initiative as Ferguson lopped a clever pass into Dave Thomas, who had made an overlap run into the box.
He went past a defender to hit a strong shot across the keeper into far corner put his side somewhat surprisingly into the lead.
Kings were now in control and went down the slope for the last 15 minutes, looking the more likely winners.
The visitors were looking strong, but with just seven minutes to, Kings fouled a player wide out and the cross was not dealt with, leaving the Burnley centre-forward with a free header to level.
Both teams now really went for the winner and the game became very open. However, it was Burnley who scored with just one minute left to reach the semis and leave Kings wondering what might have been.
