Hemel Town FC’s self-proclaimed ‘German Tudor Army’ travelled to England at the weekend for their second Hemel game of the season.
Marcel Schidlowski, Stefan Mannebach and new recruit Marc Uhlenbrock – regular Tudors fan Alexander Siepmann couldn’t make the trip this time – flew in on Friday and spent the weekend in Hemel Hempstead.
The German contingent have seen The Tudors twice before; watching their win at Poole last season and a draw at home to Ebbsfleet earlier this season.
It was inevitable that they would eventually see Hemel lose and unfortunately it was this weekend when the Tudors made the short journey to title-chasing Borehamwood.
Marcel, Stefan and Marc joined Tudors Supporters Club members in the Vauxhall Road bar early on Saturday, and, despite the defeat, they weren’t too downbeat afterwards – sharing a few drinks with a handful of regular Hemel fans and some of the club officials before hitting the town.
As usual, the trio spent their Sunday visiting other football grounds in and around London before heading back to Stansted for their flight home.
Some Hemel fans are now planning to fly out to Düsseldorf next season to take in a local game and get a taste of German football with the long distance Tudor fans.
