Kings Langley Ladies completed their league schedule with a dramatic 3-3 draw against Panshanger Ladies that saw them avoid bottom spot in Division Three of the Beds & Herts Women’s Football League.
Amy Earthrowl was forced off injured after only three minutes, but Kings sub Fay Mcmullan made an impact as her ball to Rachael Lee saw the livewire striker slot home on 22 minutes.
The lead lasted until just past the half hour mark when a defensive slip let in the home side to level.
Another injury, this time to Kelly Toms, saw Langley battle bravely to half-time, with Jade North going in goal and keeper Abbie Tarsey moving into midfield.
Panshanger made the most of this to go 3-1 up, but Lee reduced the deficit with five minutes to go when she calmly slotted home.
The drama was not over as April Langton’s corner was met in the crowded goalmouth by Phoebe Henderson-Barnes’ knee to grab a dramatic equaliser.
The draw means that Langley finish above Panshanger in the league and avoid the dreaded wooden spoon.
