It was another busy weekend of running for the Gade Valley Harriers as they tried out the GVH 20-mile training run route on Saturday, in preparation for the public run on Sunday.
A total of 461 runners from across the country returned to Boxmoor for the last of three runs as they continue their preparations for the spring marathon season.
The weather was perfect for the athletes as they headed out along the Grand Union Canal towpath, then set off towards Potten End, round the beautiful Ashridge Estate, before heading back to Potten End and home to tea, coffee and cakes.
Elsewhere on Sunday, Harrier Rob Potten ran the Leighton 10K race in Leighton Buzzard, where he set a new PB of 46:09 to come home in 40th place out of 218 runners.
Saturday also saw GVH athletes in action at parkruns in Delemere, Black Park, Cassiobury Park and Tring.
Mark Crabtree stormed home in first place at Delemere in a cracking time of 17:30, while team-mate Vince Ellerby crossed the line in 19:59 for 11th overall place at Black Park.
Cassiobury Park had Anthony James and Carol Skates competing for the Harriers; James came fifth in 19:24 and Skates finished in 32:10.
Elsewhere, Lesley Jugoo took on the hills of Tring parkrun and came back in a respectable 34:24.
