South Wales Scorpions are seeking to end the longest losing streak in the Kingstone Press Championships when they host Hemel Stags on Sunday.

The Scorpions have lost their last 10 fixtures and haven’t won a game since they beat the Stags in this same fixture in June 2013.

New coach Mike Grady will be desperate to bounce back from last week’s 76-0 defeat against York City Knights, but Stags are unlikely to roll over.

Hemel coach Troy Perkins said: “The Scorpions have had a heavy loss and will be looking to put things right, but it’s only a couple of weeks since we played them so we’ve got some idea of what to expect.

“They’re a young team that’s full of enthusiasm, and we only put them to the sword in the last 20 minutes.

“We’ve got to start better, make sure we build on last week’s performance against Gateshead, and continue climbing up the table.”

Perkins could name an unchanged team after reporting no new injury concerns ahead of Sunday’s fixture.

Meanwhile, it has been announced that the 2014 Kingstone Press Championship Grand Final and the Kingstone Press Championship One Grand Final will be broadcast live on Sky Sports from Headingley Carnegie Stadium in Leeds, on Sunday October 5.

Sky Sports will show the highly-anticipated Championship One Grand Final – the winners of which will be promoted to the Championship – at 4.05pm followed by the title-deciding Championship Grand Final at 6.45pm.

RFL Operating Officer Ralph Rimmer said: “It is terrific news for the Kingstone Press Championships and for Rugby League fans that both the Grand Finals will be showcased live on Sky Sports.

“Kingstone Press Championships Finals Day is always a highlight in the sporting calendar and I’m sure this year will be even more special.”

The day will kick-off with the Conference Challenge Trophy Final at 1.30pm.

Gordon Johncox, Managing Director of the Championships title sponsors Kingstone Press, added: “It’s fantastic news that Championships Finals Day is going to be broadcast live on Sky Sports.

“Having the day televised is a great opportunity for a huge audience to see the excitement of rugby league and allows even more fans to watch the buzz of the day’s events.

“It is set to be a great ending to the season where fans can enjoy an amazing atmosphere, exhilarating rugby and, of course, our cider.”

Sky Sports executive producer of rugby league Neville Smith said: “Championship Finals Day has always been one of my favourite days in the rugby league calendar.

“Without fail the day delivers great matches, end-to-end entertainment, last gasp results, and a superb atmosphere. I am delighted that we are going to be able to give it the full Sky Sports treatment, and that it is back on the home of rugby league in the UK, Sky Sports.”

Tickets for Finals Day are on sale now priced from £17 for adults and £10 for concessions. Book your tickets by visiting www.rugbyleaguetickets.co.uk or call 0844 856 1113.
