Leverstock Green moved out of the bottom two in SSML Division One as Dene Gardner recorded his first win since taking over as manager last month.
Levy played well and deservedly saw off Hertford Town 2-1 at Pancake Lane with goals from captain Mark Shadbolt and livewire winger Billy Smith.
The home team started well, with Imad Abbasi and Chad Pinching both coming close to breaking the deadlock inside the opening 10 minutes.
Abbasi was denied by a good stop soon afterwards, but the Green pressure eventually told in the 12th minute when Shadbolt lobbed home from 30 yards.
There was more Levy pressure as the first half went on, with Abbasi again denied, but the hosts could not add to their tally before the interval.
There were chances for both sides in the second half as Hertford managed to get a foothold in the game, but Levy bagged the crucial second goal in the 72nd minute as Smith beat a few men before producing an excellent angled finish.
Hertford continued to push forward, and shortly after a corner from Charlie Smith had hit the post, Adam Lawton pulled a goal back with 78 minutes on the clock.
That made for a tense finish, but the Green side continued to defend strongly and held out for the valuable three points.
