Hemel Hempstead Town FC will be looking for positive response when they travel to in-form Hungerford Town for an FA Trophy clash tomorrow afternoon.
The Tudors had enjoyed an excellent run of 11 wins and a draw in their 12 previous games prior to a 4-1 drubbing by lowly St Neots last Saturday, and they will need to be back to their best tomorrow if they are to avoid a second successive defeat.
Hungerford go into the game full of confidence following three wins in the space of a week – a 3-1 league win at Weymouth on Saturday followed by two cup wins on successive nights.
Hemel have been struggling with injuries in recent weeks, while Hungerford can boast a full strength squad for the Trophy game, which offers £4,000 in prize money for the winners as well as a place in the first round proper.
Football statistics and predictions website betstatz.com think it will be a tightly contested game.
“Hungerford are on a streak of good form, winning seven of their last eight league games and scoring an average of two goals per game,” said Betstatz owner Nick Gelis.
“However, Hemel still have the best defence in the league despite last weekend’s loss to St Neots.
“The recent form shows both teams have a good attacking strength so we expect a high scoring game in which both teams score.
“The statistics suggest the game is most likely to be a draw so we predict the draw, a full-time result of 2-2 and over 3.5 goals.”
